Although we offer a very large range of standard sizes for you to choose from throughout our ranges, sometimes our customers have a space in their home that our standard size rugs just won’t fit. In the past this has been a problem for some customers that loved the design of our rugs yet were unable to find the exact size that they required. Well now we have the solution in the form of our new made to measure service. Many of our most popular designs can now be made to custom sizes allowing our customers to get the perfect fit for the space in their room.
 

When browsing through the rugs on our website you will now find a custom size button located just below where the standard sizes are listed. This means that the particular rug you are viewing can be made to measure. Simply click on the button and you will be taken to a form where you can enter the name of the rug along with the size that you require. Once you have submitted this form we will email you back (usually within 24 hours) with a quote for your custom size rug as well as an estimated delivery time.
 

Usually our custom made rugs take approximately 12 to 16 weeks for delivery as they are produced overseas and then shipped to the UK for us. Although the lead time is not nearly as quick as the delivery on our standard sizes, many of our customers have been more than happy to wait to get the exact size they want, rather than just purchasing a size which is too small or too big. After all a rug is something you will live with for years and see everyday so it is important that it looks right.
 

We have already started to take orders for a variety of custom sizes from extra large size modern designs to long hallway runners. Below you will see an image of a very large custom size rug after being produced for us in India. Our custom made service will no doubt become increasingly popular in the coming months and we are happy to offer yet another service that makes it easier for our customers to find their ideal rug.

For those that haven’t seen the show, 60 Minute Makeover follows a team of interior designer, decorators and handymen as they attempt to perform a stunning makeover of 4 rooms in a lucky persons home. The catch is that they only have 60 minutes to complete the full makeover. To make this possible everything is planned down to the last detail in advance and there is a workforce of up to 40 people. When the whistle is blown the workforce enters each room with everything they require to complete the makeover and work as hard and as fast as they can for 30 minutes. This is when the majority of the painting and decorating is done. After the first 30 minutes the whistle is blown and the clock is stopped while the whole workforce stops for a ‘tea break’. When the whistle blows again it’s back to work for the final 30 minutes. In the last few minutes all of the furnishings such as curtains, cushions and rugs are added for the finishing touches. When the final whistle is blown the workforce clear out as the unsuspecting homeowner returns home to get a very nice surprise!

When the 60 Minute Makeover designers required some rugs they contacted us to ask for our assistance in several episodes throughout series 4 and 5 of the show. We were happy to oblige and supplied our beige rugs to makeovers in Bradford, Duston, Swansea, Chalfont St Peter and Frinton on Sea. Obviously choosing the right rug to fit with the rest of the makeover was essential to the designers. Depending on the situation the designers would sometimes look for a rug which had subtle colours allowing it to blend with the other colours in the room, whilst other times a more vibrant rug would be required if they wanted to make a bold statement and add a real focal point to the room. The 60 Minute Makeover designers loved the massive range of choice they had on our website along with the ease of being able to quickly search through our ranges by specifying rug type (modern, traditional, shaggy, plain rugs etc), colour and size that matched their criteria. Our close up photography and product videos allowed the 60 Minute Makeover designers to view each rug in great detail before making their final choice for the makeover.

The finished makeovers all went down very well with the surprised homeowners and we were pleased to see our rugs featured in such nice and well designed settings.
